A new energy supplier based in Leeds has entered the UK domestic market. Yorkshire Energy will provide gas and electricity to householders and is “looking to challenge the Big Six” firms, which have all increased energy prices this year.
The company told ELN it is currently only offering a 12-month fixed price dual fuel tariff, costing an average of £842.20 annually.
Executive Chairman Peter Connolly said: “As a Yorkshire-based company, we believe in good value, excelled service and fair, easy-to-understand tariffs. Customers are increasingly voting with their feet and leaving the larger providers to find a better deal from one of the newer suppliers who are cheaper and more responsive.
“We’ve been working on this new offer in the domestic energy market for a number of years – now we are live.”
